How to get listed
Submitting to Crunchbase
- A registered account that is "socially authenticated" (linked to Google and/or LinkedIn) before you can add a profile
- Search first to make sure the company isn't already listed
- Content must be accurate and objective, provide unique information, and "cannot be used as a marketing tool to sell a product or service"
- Profiles may be removed if they look like "Promotional-based profiles that are purely advertisements", web directories and website submission sites, small local businesses, or profiles written entirely in a language other than English
- Target profiles are early-stage funded startups, growth startups, pre-funding startups, investors, technology companies and other high-profile companies
Your listing
What a listing includes
- A company profile with logo, founded date, website and social links, short and long description, headquarters, industries, founders, funding rounds, employees, board members and advisors
- An automatic CB Rank and CB Trend, plus Insights and Predictions, which users cannot edit
- Verified employees can use "Manage My Company" to control some content in the Overview section
Tips
Getting the most out of Crunchbase
- Crunchbase gives menu steps rather than a direct link: click Resources, then Create Profile. Link your account to Google or LinkedIn first, or you can't add anything.
- Write the short and long descriptions in the third person, start the long one with a one-sentence summary, and avoid words like "best" and dated words like "new", as the best-practices article asks.
- Add 3 to 5 industries and all closed funding rounds with amount, date, investors and a press reference.
- Verify your employment through Manage My Company so outsiders can't change your Overview section.
