How to get listed
Submitting to Product Hunt
- A personal account: company or branded accounts cannot post, vote or comment
- New accounts wait one week before posting, or subscribe to the Product Hunt newsletter for immediate access
- The post needs a direct product URL, a name with no emojis, a tagline, topics, a square thumbnail (240x240 recommended), a pricing type, at least 2 gallery images (1270x760 recommended) and a description of up to 260 characters
- Relaunches need at least six months between posts for the same product or domain, plus a significant update
- Don't ask or incentivize people to upvote: the help center says this may drop the product in the rankings or remove it from the homepage
- Not featured: waitlisted products, directories, templates, courses, podcasts, events, books, services, commerce sites, most hardware and non-tech submissions

What a listing includes
- A product post that goes live at 12:01 AM PST on the chosen date, schedulable up to 30 days ahead
- Upvotes, comments and shares from the community, and a chance at the homepage leaderboard (featuring is at the team's discretion)
- Posts that are not featured still appear in the All feed
- Optional extras: a YouTube video, an interactive demo, a promo code and maker credits
Tips
Getting the most out of Product Hunt
- Hunt your own product from a personal account; the help center says self-posting "gives you full control over the launch".
- Set up the account at least a week early (or subscribe to the newsletter), then schedule the launch up to 30 days ahead for 12:01 AM PST.
- Prepare the full assets: a 240x240 thumbnail, at least two 1270x760 gallery images, a 260-character description and a strong first comment.
- Ask supporters to visit and comment rather than upvote, and only relaunch after six months with a significant change.
