Overview
Sensecast is a weather app for iPhone, iPad, and Android that explains the forecast instead of just showing a number — built for people who read forecasts closely and need verifiable data for safety, travel, or property claims.
Every number in the forecast carries an explanation. Tap the info button on any value and get a plain-language sensation analogy first ("what it actually feels like"), the safety band second, and the deeper physics third — so a dew point of 68° or a sudden pressure drop means something before it matters. A 20-topic Weather Academy lives inside the app, covering the concepts behind the numbers in language anyone can follow. Fully localized in Spanish, the app follows your device language.
Your location is routed to the agency that models your terrain: NOAA and the National Weather Service across the US, MET Norway, the Hong Kong Observatory for typhoons, and Météo-France's 1.3 km AROME grid—15 sources free, 18 total. Live hazards sit beneath the forecast: tornado touchdowns, earthquake activity, wildfire tracking, tropical cyclone paths, and county-level power outages, plus a weather risk score for your exact grid. Add Doppler radar playback, home-screen widgets, and Live Activities, and you always know what's coming and why.
You get transparent, attributed readings with context, not a single number. Sensecast keeps location and preferences on device, surfaces agency sources and evidence, and produces shareable reports and alerts that help you act on weather and verify impacts for claims. You can document every storm with an exportable verification report that includes a checkable reference ID.
Free with no account and no ads. Sensecast Pro ($2.99/month, $23.99/year with a 3-day trial, or $99.99 lifetime) adds pressure-drop migraine alerts and full storm verification reports. Built by an indie developer — your forecast, explained.

Behind the product
Meet the Maker
Maker of Sensecast · On LaunchIt since 2026
I kept opening my forecast and seeing "74° and raining" with zero explanation. Which model said that? What does a dew point of 68° actually mean for my afternoon? Is the storm hitting my county a real threat or just noise? I got tired of guessing, so I built the weather app I wanted: one that tells you why it says what it says, with the agency sources and evidence to back it up. This is my second app as a solo founder — I design and build the whole thing myself.
